The honest sizing guide
As a rough starting point:
- 5'0" – 5'3" → XS (typically 49–50cm)
- 5'3" – 5'6" → S (52cm)
- 5'6" – 5'9" → M (54cm)
- 5'9" – 6'0" → M/L (56cm)
These are ranges, not rules. Inseam length, torso length, and arm length all matter more than your total height.
"Women's specific" — do you need it?
Modern gravel geometry has largely made "women's specific" frames unnecessary. What matters is contact points: saddle, bars, and stem. A shop can swap those to fit you. Do not let anyone tell you that you need a different bike because you're a woman — you need a bike that fits your body.
Get a bike fit before you buy
The single most valuable thing a beginner can do is a professional bike fit. It changes saddle height, saddle position, and reach so the bike stops fighting you. Trek Bicycle Shawnee is our community partner and handles fits for More Than Miles™ riders — mention the program and they'll take care of you.
