Women's Gravel Cycling in Shawnee, KS: The Pilot Cohort

Gravel cycling has exploded across Kansas — but for a lot of women, the entry point still feels intimidating. Fast group rides, race-focused culture, and gear talk can shut the door before someone even opens it.

More Than Miles™ was built to be the opposite of that door. It's a 12-week women's gravel cycling pilot cohort based in Shawnee, Kansas, run in partnership with Trek Bicycle Shawnee.

The program is coached by Amanda Duling and Roger Williams — both USA Cycling Level 3 Certified Cycling Coaches. Amanda is the founder of More Than Miles and One Gear Short of Normal, and a #1 New Release author. Roger owns Gravelleurs Coaching LLC and brings decades of endurance cycling experience.

What the cohort includes: coached group rides on real Kansas gravel, bike-handling and mechanical clinics at Trek Bicycle Shawnee, a private community space, and safety-certified leadership on every ride.

Who it's for: women who want to try gravel in a supportive, non-competitive environment. If you are a total beginner, you are in the right place. If you have a road background and want to explore gravel, you are in the right place.

Applications for the founding pilot cohort are open now. The fastest way in is to DM Amanda, join the private Facebook group, or fill out the 3-minute intake form on the home page.
